WHY DID WE DO THIS? Because we had given up hope. We saw the shared home that we love so much being more destroyed by the day and began to feel hopeless. We didn’t give up and looked for movements that “normal” people can do to make a big impact. One of those movements is allowing the land that each of us care for to be a safe haven for our rooted and unrooted neighbors in nature that are quickly losing habitat and life. We CAN make a difference. We are the many. If we join our patches of land together, now that is one big chunk of land dedicated to rebuilding natural space. Its easy and its important.

The green yards that have become a common image are actually just an extremely outdated concept to prove one’s class and status.  Centuries ago, it was a bragging right to have a perfectly manicured lawn.  It showed that you were so wealthy, you didn’t have to grow your own food.  A manicured and “clean” landscape was for royalty and the high class.  After the industrial revolution, many folks jumped on this show boat to prove just how well they were doing too.

Now if you ask me, that concept is terribly outdated.  In modern times, a yard filled with nourishing food for your family and safe haven for our at-risk species  shows a forward thinking visionary that knows what is needed now.  Not living in the past, but instead living in the moment and looking toward the future.

WHAT YOU’LL FIND IN THIS BOOK: Overview and greater understanding of this larger movement and mind shift. Better understanding the war on weeds and if it is even necessary as well as what invasives actually are AND medicinal information on weeds and invasives you may also have in your yard. Making wild medicine, dosage tips and steps forward. Hope.
